Lithia Goes Shopping: Mercedes Benz Dealer Sold
The Mercedes-Benz of Medford dealership at 3284 Crater Lake Avenue, Medford traded hands to a local buyer in mid-February.
MEDFORD, OR - On February 23rd, a landmark local transaction closed putting a prominent dealership into the hands of a local owner. Lithia Motors (NYSE: LAD) closed in mid-February 2026 on its acquisition of Mercedes-Benz of Medford, including the dealership business and real estate.
The dealership, located off of Crater Lake Avenue in north Medford, Oregon, closed for a publicly-recorded sales price of $12,650,000.
It was not reported how much of the sales price was allocated to business vs. real estate, but in our experience and from other sales like this, we'd estimate well over 60-70%+ of that price was the operating business.
The seller, Lancaster County Motors ("LCM"), is based in Pennsylvania; Mercedes-Benz of Medford was its only dealership located out of state. Chris Boland, owner of LCM, shared that "While Mercedes-Benz of Medford has been an important part of our organization, we thought it best to refocus our operations for the long term with an eye closer to our home market".
No changes to operations or staff were planned by the buyer. For Southern Oregon commercial property owners, this is good news - it signals that local and regional operators still see significant value in our market (to the tune of millions), even as some national players retreat.
